ACC Nation baseball power poll - April 21
Here is the power poll for this week. We had our first tie of the season, with Clemson and Duke getting rained out in the 11th inning Sunday with the scored tied at six.
What’s wrong with Clemson? Weren’t the Tigers supposed to be good?
Is it just that I haven’t paid attention much before this week, or does Duke have a potent offense? The Devils scored 22, 16 and 10 in games this week.
Yes, I dropped Virginia a spot for losing a game — and losing it ugly — to Wake Forest. The Cavs also lost at home to a good Coastal Carolina team.
The top three — Miami, FSU and Carolina — may switch positions with each other the rest of the season, but I don’t see any other team jumping into the top three. Those three are all contenders for a national championship this season. No one else in the ACC has a prayer.
I’m starting to write like Larry King, so I better stop before I take a caller from Des Moines. On with the rankings:

Clemson and Georgia Tech had horrible weekend series.
I give a pass to GT with all of the controversy swirling around Michael Hutts death. That has to be distracting.
Clemson’s season has been steadily inching its way to the sold waste removal receptacle and is in danger of a major flushing.
The Miami-Florida State matchup was heated and we’re not talking about the weather. An absolutely insane finish and some poor sportsmanship awards for everyone.
